How do I delete the cache?

You may want to delete your browser cache, for example to see if it resolves an issue or after you have been in contact with our support team.

An example of when this may be necessary is if you receive an error message in a view in Flex HRM—a view you have previously been able to use and which your colleagues can open without problems. In that case, a good first step is to try deleting the browser cache.

What is cache?

The cache stores images, scripts, and temporary data from websites and apps so they load faster the next time you visit them.

When too much old data builds up, or when a website is updated, the cache can cause problems instead. This can make pages appear incorrectly or slow down loading times.

What does deleting the cache mean?

When you delete the cache, you delete old files. This forces the browser or app to fetch the latest version of the page.

After deleting the cache, pages will load a bit slower the first time, as the browser needs to download all images and files again.

Where do you find the setting to delete the browser cache?

No matter which browser you use, the setting to delete the cache is almost always in the same place:

1. Open the main menu: Click on the main menu in the upper right corner (usually shown as three points, three lines, or a cogwheel).
2. Navigate to the privacy and security settings, often:
   1. Settings > Privacy, Security or Browsing history or
   2. Tools > Privacy, Security or Browsing history.
3. Select Delete/Clear browsing data.
4. Select cache and start the deletion. Often you'll be able to choose how far back you want to delete. Depending on the issue, options like "latest hour" may not be sufficient.
